I honestly don't need any support from HP for my script testing. The eventual machines are N-class, so I don't see a problem when I get around to actually needing support.

My question is really "can I install and run SG on the workstation class so I can work out changes to my scripts or will anything about the SG install prevent it from coming up on a workstation class machine?"

I need to test and tailor my SG start/stop scripts for a new installation. I won't have the production equipment for another couple of weeks, but I do have a number of B132L's, C200-C240's and J2240's lying unused in the lab. Can I run ServiceGuard on these knowing it is just for testing?

Nope. MC/SG is not 'officially' supported on workstations, which is what the B's, C's and J's are.

I suppose you could give it a try, but if it doesn't work don't expect any support from HP.

The only thing I can say is try it and see what happens. I've had luck doing things that aren't "officially" supported before.

It's not supported but it will run. The real problem is setting a controller SCSI ID to something other than 7 so that you get get the VG's shared.
