CVM problem

Hi All,

I am trying to create CVM volume in a MC/SG environment:
The cluster is UP!
Package VxVM-CVM-pkg is UP and running!
On a MASTER node "vxdg -s init vgora c1t2d0 c1t3d0" passed.
The output of vxdg list is:
NAME STATE ID
rootdg enabled 1025825592.1025.test1
vgora enabled,shared 1026493369.1092.test1

The problem is in "vxdg -g vgora set activation=on" which I changed to "activation=ew" but I am not able to create any volumes on that DG, because of the next message:
test1:/ #vxassist -g vgora make oracle 3072m
vxvm:vxassist: ERROR: Cannot assign minor number

Troyan,
There is a conflict with the minor number already in use.

Verify what numbers are in use:
# ll /dev/vx/dsk/*

Then you need to use vxdg reminor to use a different minor number.

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for the respond, but it is all my fault. Because I saw VxVM-CVM-pkg UP I assumed that CVM is installed, but it wasn't. After installing B9117AA (CVM) software I was able to create volumes in that DG.

Sometimes, it's hard to remember when troubleshooting, start at the beginning!
