topic sread error in Operating System - HP-UX

We are testing a porting set upgrade for our installation of Baan 4c4. One of our testers is getting an "sread" error in the middle of a procedure. I have no idea what sread does or which what part of the system it interacts. Any help that can be directed toward me would be appreciated.

Stuart
