since "http://" is assumed by all known browsers when you do not specify which protocol to use, and unless otherwise specified in any url, it points to the originating server, http://myserver prefix is not a required entity in the url.

Having said that, your webserwer, presumably apache, in the configuration file, should accept this OvCgi directory as a valid cgi-bin executable container.

Your problems seems to be originating from the web server as far as I can see not from OV or the hpux. I, not being a webserver authority, can not tell you where to look as each web server instance has its own quirky configuration.

I am using HPOV Release B 07.00 on MS-Windows 2003 Server. Whenever I execute a CGI (like the Report Presenter), the resulting web page is the "404 File Not Found".

When I tried to run this from the command-line, I get a bunch of HTML. After carefully reading the HTML produced, I noticed all the HREF and SRC statements in the HTML have no prefix (like http://myhost)

Example:

HREF="/OpenView?Help&Context=Events"

or

src=/OvDocs/images/context.gif

I have the OvCgi virtual directory pointing the $HPOV/www/cgi-bin. Do I need to set an environment variable or something?
Thanks. You were right. The problem was not HPOV but IIS. I solved this problem myself and posted the solution at the following URL if you are interested:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=585432&admit=716493758+1085008273646+28353475
