I have taken over administration of a 2-node cluster (HP-UX 11.0, model K220) running
version A.11.09 of MC/Service Guard.

Whenever to try to do a cmcheckconf on the existing or a new cmclconfig.ascii file, I always get the following error and the cmclconfig binary will not build:
" Error: Device is not found on any nodes in the cluster.
cmcheck.conf : Unable to reconcile configuration file /etc/cmcluster/cmclconfig.ascii
with discovered configuration information."

I have no idea "which" device it is having conflict with?

Any suggestions?

Basically checkconf is using an ioscan do compare with the devices listed in your <CONF>.ascii file. Without it listing which device its having trouble finding (does using the -v option reveal this ?) then you will have to check every device. Look in the <CONF>.ascii file, grep out every /dev/dsk entry and compare with an ioscan -fknCdisk and try to establish whats not matching up. If its not in the ioscan results it shouldnt be in the <CONF>.ascii file.</CONF></CONF></CONF>

I am going to guess here, but all discs in the cluster are connected to both nodes???
uyou need PHSS_21866
see symptom 3 in the portion describing the superseded patch PHSS_20230 in the patch text file.

I support Melvyn idea. Check patches.
How long is this error occuring? Is the env. still running?
