regular vs truted nodes

hi

we have a cluster with 2 nodes, one trusted
the other untrusted. is there a way to sync the password files. also when SG kicks in we toggle a combined passwd file on that node,
would i have to untrust the system first or visa-versa.

NIS+ (plus) sounds like the bast way to go in your situation.

There are no ServiceGuard-recommended methods for dealing with password syncronization.

Hi David,

You won't be able to share the password file across your 2 servers as its structure is totally different (file versus tcb tree).

You may use NIS+ to distribute passwords.

Do you have any reason for not converting the untrusted system?

thx for ur inputs.
the reason is one has to be trusted is
because of auditors, the other will have
to remain untrusted because it is running
peoplesoft and they (ps) say that they are
not c2 certified.
