can i download java on hp-ux?
is it free softwrare?
where can i find some documentation about java betwork programming interface, and servlet?

Yes, you can download Java SDK / RTE for HP-UX. Yes, it is FREE!

Java is available at http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/java/ . It is free. The current version is 1.4.1.01 which was put out this month. We are using it in development because it has some memory usage improvements.

Just a note: java 1.4 is not certified for Oracle.

You will need to download and install each and every recommended OS patch for java if you want it to work right.
