We currently have a lot of fixed licenses, for
example I just installed a c++ on a rp5470 running 11.0.
Can we buy floating licenses?
Can fixed be converted to floating?
TIA,
Steven

Steven,

By fixed license, do you mean that the license is only good for one machine? And by floating, do you mean that you can install on several?

I believe you can use the same codeword to install on a different machine, though I'm not sure of the legality of doing so.

Pete

Floating license...
I'm referring to central server(s) with say 6 licenses that get "checked out" so that as long as there are no more than 6 are in use at any one time, and at the 7th it would deny a request.
Fixed license...
Can only be used on that 1 host.

I do believe that installing the same license on multiple systems would be a violation of the licensing agreement (read illegal).

Thanks

Steven,

I have to admit then, that I don't know - but I do agree with your interpretation of the license agreement.

Hopefully, you'll get an answer soon but it seems like an awful lot of people are extending their holidays with a little vacation time - it's been quiet on the Forums.

Good luck,
Pete
