errors when installing perl 561

Hi,

i have downloaded perl 561 depot and ran swinstall -s /tmp/perl_11.00.depot perl.

Once started swinstall aborts.
i check the swagent logs and it is full of errors like the following :

ERROR: The file "/opt/perl/man/man3/XML::XPath::Number.3" was not
loaded because it is missing from the source media.
ERROR: The file "/opt/perl/man/man3/XML::XPath::PerlSAX.3" was not
loaded because it is missing from the source media.
ERROR: The file "/opt/perl/man/man3/XML::XPath::XMLParser.3" was not
loaded because it is missing from the source media.

i downloaded the whole depot souce file.

Any ideas of what happened or how i can fix this?

Hi,

Looks like not all the needed files are in the depot !
Did you download the depot from here:

http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Languages/perl-5.6.1/

i downloaded it from the software.hp.com website.

i will re-download it and see if i get the whole thing this time.

Be sure if you download it to your PC, to transfer it binary to the unix box.

Hi Maria

download stable.tar from www.perl.com which is a stable version for perl 5.6.1 as I could install it properly using this version . Also incase you have problem plese do let me know.
