      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Your box will most likely not work at all.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;These upgrades should only be done by HP hardware.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you have them do it and they update the firmware and other needed componenets then you should not have to do anything.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>No need to reinstall the OS or rebuild the kernel, but check that your server firmware is up to date before installing the new processor.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(You did not say your server model, so I cannot check whether there are firmware version requirements for dual-core CPUs or not _for your specific model_.)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;After the installation, the OS will see two processors instead of one.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Only the diagnostic programs (or any programs that know how to specifically query for this) will see that the two processors are actually in the same physical package = two cores on one chip.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;MK</description>

      <description>You can get better answers if you specify what server you have ("model" command), what CPUs are installed ("machinfo"), what firmware is running (MP:CM&amp;gt; sysrev) and what CPUs you want to install (Intel's 9000 or 9100 series).</description>
