topic perl ?? in Operating System - HP-UX

What is the latest ver of perl.
i ve a hp 11.00 box, and need to load on that.
what the way to load it , do i need to compile it.

Current stable production release is 5.6.1

Hi Sachin
If you get compile version then you just install using swinstall(depot format)Get the depot from
www.hpux.cs.utah.edu and search for perl.

If you download source then you have to compile it. Mostly it has three steps
#./configure
#make
#make install

Perl 5.6.1 is on the September 2001 Application CDs as well as all ther other places that you can get it.
