hi Suman,

What is the version of your operating system?

Note that CDE is NOT installed by default with HP-UX 11iv3.

You must select it from the Optional Products list when installing, or use the install media to now add it in.

You may wish to verify your DVD/CD media using the following command:
swlist -l product -s /cdrom

and you can runn the following command to verify whether it is already installed:

# swlist -l product CDE*
# Initializing...
# Contacting target "mysrv"...
#
# Target: mysrv:/
#

I don't think the CDE is available for download.

Instead you have the alternative Ximian GNOME.

This is a modern, highly customizable desktop environment that runs on top of the X Window System, as an alternative to CDE.
