telnet problme on Integrity server

Hi,

I am having a problem to telnet to IA64 system.(HPUX 11.23 ia64). I have no problem for rlogin.

Error messages from 'telnet' command:
Local flow control off
Connection closed by foreign host.

are you getting any error in syslog ( /usr/adm/syslog/syslog.log )

possible running out of pty ?

check syslog.log and also see if any other users able to login or all the user not able to login.

Hi ,

Check if you have /var/adm/inetd.sec file, this can control who can telnet to the server.

there could be a line like

telnet allow host1,host2,....

you may need to include your ip or host in this line

if /var/adm/inetd.sec does not exist, then this is not the problem.
