The porduct was installed by someone who no longer works for our company and I believe it is RSA keon. It does not apear, unfortunatley in the swlist. Thanks for all your suggestions I will try to find some docs on the product and hopefully it will have left an uninstall file.

Nigel

As is usual in the removal business, reversing the install process is generally the best way so I must ask "how did keon (whatever it is) get there"?

Does it appear in swlist output? Then you would use swremove. If not, does it have it's own installation directory tree, startup config, etc. If so, you will have to track these things down and remove them manually. Or - it might even have it's own removal process, like windoze programs usually do!

Pete

keon is a product which adds a layer of security to a system. You can have a keon master server which administers passwords and can be set to allow only certain IP addresses to login to certain servers. A little like a simple form of active directory. Unfortunately that is about the limit of my knowledge and I do not have any documentation on it. The product is sometimes known as â boksmâ Thanks for your reply
>You can have a keon master server which administers passwords and can be set to allow only certain IP addresses to login to certain servers.

Sounds to me that you for sure you would need the documentation for keon.

If some server from the network would manage the passwords, should be a real problem if you would remove the client that connects to that server, letting your users without the accounting information.

Only understanding the documentation of this product would help you remove it safely from your server.

Horia.

Hello,
Do you mean RSA's Keon? It depends on how it was installed.
In general, if it used swinstall then take a backup with ignite and use swremove.
You can use swlist -l fileset |grep -i keon (or rsa) to see if Software Distributor knows about it, or use swlist -i and scroll through the lists.
If it used an RSA supplied script then there should be and uninstall script with it. Once again take a backup of the operating system then run the script , you may have to seek and remove any data files it managed .

Mike
