hi dears,
how to know the version of my UNIX HP operating system?
also i need some commands that help me to know about some details in each server e.g capacity,RAM,etc...

run

# uname -a

and you will find the version information like

11.11, 11.23 or 11.31

I would suggest to use the online diags to get more information

# xstm
# mstm
or
# cstm

Hi,

Run following:

OS name and Version:
# uname -a

Model:

# Model

Swap details:

#swapinfo -tam

RAM :

dmesg|grep -i physical

If it is IA Server:
#machinfo

will give you a very good details

IF you want to print complete details about HW also then:

#print_manifest

For disks :

ioscan -fnkC disk
and
vgdisplay

For that you can run the nickel script.

The Nickel script is a HP written script which collects all system data (LVM, system configuration, network setup, log files, etc.) and prepares html files so that you can direct your web browser to the created index.html file and use the webbrowser to "surf" through the configuration.
