    <description>Thanks to everybody who ever tried to help in this regards...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; The problem was in the entry in the etc/fstab for the nfs mount....after removing the same the server became stable now....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;points were give !</description>

      <description>Hi:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you see this message when *you* initiate a shutdown (e.g via 'shutdown' or as a part of a 'swinstall' session that is going to cause a reboot), OR does your server announce this of its own accord?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A signal 15 is a kill TERM (the default 'kill').&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;...JRF...</description>

      <description>I'm not initiating the Shutdown or reboot. The machine by itself goes down with that error mesg.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; I'm struggling to get this up !</description>

      <description>That message might just be a symptom, and not the actual reason the server is shutting down. Is there anything in syslog that indicates what initiated the shutdown?</description>

      <description>Syslog doesnot have any information for the shutdown.But it keeps checking the nfsd</description>

      <description>Booting to single user mode does it still reboot over and over?  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If not it might give you a chance to view the logs like suggested above to see if there is something other then what you think might be happening is truly the cause.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Was it patched recently?  Did this just start to happen?&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
