Sendmail config

Hi ,

I have a doubt regarding the sendmail.
I had complted the sendmail configuration in the server.
Now am able to send the mail to each user inside the current server(Only for internal use).
Now i want send and recieve the mail in a outlook client.
What to do for that?

I tried to configure the mail account in my pc(outlook express). But am getting the following error message.

"The connection to the server has failed. Account: '10.20.20.75', Server: '10.20.20.75', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

Am able to send and receive the mails inside server by using the "mailx" command.Is anything has to be done in the serve side?

Pleas help...

Shalom,

You can't send directly to an outlook client because it is not a mail server that can accept and hold mail.

You can install qpopper from the Internet Express program at http://software.hp.com and then you have a popmail server tha can be accessed by an outlook client.

You may also be able to use the cyrus server to provide imap/popmail access.

The error message is partially meanginful. The connection to the server has failed. It has, because there is not a popmail server running there.

This is my first time experience in the mail server concept.Shall we can use the same server where sendmail is running as a popmail server.
What has to be done for that?
