While running our SCADA application with Oracle 9i as database on HP-UX System, the file system becomes 100% and when I removed the Global Database (identified by name ECDB) and tried to create it again, it displays that sufficient space is not available. How can this be solved?

You can also make your datafiles and tablespaces smaller when you recreate the database.

Shalom,

More disk space, probably a great deal more will be needed. I'm sure the application documentation will tell you how much disk space is required.

SEP

I assum you have done a "bdf" and identified which file system is full, and it is a separate file system just for your SCADA application data.

Was the database down and no processes running on "the Global Database" prior to you removing?

If not - it i still locked - and untill all those processes are killed, you won't be able to reclaim the space.

fuser -cu /your/file/system

to check, and fuser -cku to kill

If they won't die, you may have to reboot...

RGds...Geoff
