upgrading HPUX 11.11 to 11.23

here i am having RP7410,RP8400,SD32, and the production is based on oracle and application of SAP and HPUX11.11. but our DR site is of 11.23. So we want to upgrade our full setup to hpux 11.23 as the CA replication wont run on the different platform. so anyone can suggest me that which method i can use to do the upgradation of the whole production environment.

You can search into forums and docs and all of them recommend clean install.
Backup your data and perform clean install.

With a good preparation (test on a separate server) an upgrade can be succesfully also.

If you do a fresh an install there might be a lot of customisation work afterwards.

My doubt is that whether can i go thru direct upgrade option or not.
here we are having 2 2 node cluster is also there on which we are running SG 11.16 version.

Shalom,

You can try the direct upgrade. HP supports it, Oracle does not.

It will probably fail.

What you are better off is doing a cold install of the OS 11.23, then patches, then applications followed by data migration.

Another resource for assisting with an upgrade such as this is the HP-UX Supported I/O Cards Matrix. This shows which I/O cards are supported on HP-UX 11.11, 11.23, & 11.31. Not all cards are supported when upgrading from one to another.

I am using the VXVM 3.5 in the 11.11 now and if I do the upgrade to the 11.23, what should i do to migrate to the newer version of VXVM
