11.23 DLKM Uninstall Issue

A 11.23 (11i v2) issue has been discovered with uninstalling some graphics kernel modules (DLKMs) during a shutdown sequence. The result is a failure
message on the console that looks as follows:

Unload/Uninstall XF86 DLKM Helper Modules ............. FAIL *

If you encounter this message, the issue will be correctly resolved either after
the reboot is completed or after executing the '/sbin/init 2' command from the shell (the two possible exit paths from the shutdown).

The HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) OE Update for June 2007 will include a patch in the HWEnable11i bundle that fixes this problem.

This issue has now a fix available.

For HP-UX 11i v2, the fix is in patch PHSS_35966, also available as part of the June 2007 HWEnable11i patch bundle.

The problem exists also in HP-UX 11i v3. It is fixed by patch PHSS_36123, which will be part of the Sep 2007 HWEnable11i patch bundle when released next month.
