This looks like it might be a licensing issue.

dl only shows the extremely cryptic message:

"You have access to unlicensed tools only on this system."

It doesn't tell me what I don't have access to.

Oh well, thanks to all who replied.
If the diagnostic was started recently it could take some minutes before you can interact. Try later.

Maybe it helps to restart the daemon.

/sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop / start

Unlikely.

Some STM tools (e.g. expert tools) are protected. You need to install a license to run these tools.

Have look into the Tools -> latest logs , if you can find any hint.

Most problems in client server communication are due to problems in name resolution. Did you check this?

Shalom,

swremove followed by swinstall might help in these circumstances.

Before doing that, I'd like to see how cstm's playmates mstm and xstm are working.

It may be a problem with the depot, and it may be corrected in a later depot, though this software is pretty fresh.

Do you have another system with the same revision on it to test if this is a bug?

SEP

Thanks for your replies.
- scs had no effect

> swremove followed by swinstall might help
> in these circumstances.

I guess I should have mentioned that in an attempt to fix the issue, I swremoved the old OnlineDiag (B.11.23.07.04) and installed the latest depot (B.11.23.09.05).

> I'd like to see how cstm's playmates mstm
> and xstm are working.

Same effect - CPUs are greyed out in the gui, and the "Information" item is unavailable.

> Do you have another system with the same
> revision on it to test if this is a bug?

Both revisions produce the same results on all my 11.23 rx4640s. My PA boxes do not produce this error but are admittedly still at 11.11 (apples & oranges).

Thanks again.

Hi Paul,
I've just seen this thread, sorry you haven't been given the right answer before now.

On IA systems, there is no CPU info tool. The System Info tool should give information about the CPUs (though it is dependent on the model exactly what information you see), and 'machinfo' is an alternative way to get CPU information.

Andrew

Reading a thread more carefully may be helpful sometimes, but I didn't :-(

Thank you Andrew, sorry Paul.

This is not an error, but it looks like.

If you select the "system" item, stm will make you aware of this:

"...
For additional information about the system and the CPUs, please run the
following command:

/usr/contrib/bin/machinfo"

Thanks for the unfortunate but definitive answer. Unfortunately the System Tool doesn't give me what I'm looking for on the rx4640.

-p
