Hi. There used to be an area on www1.itrc.hp.com where lists of Security Patches were located. I used search criteria such as "s700 10.20:P".

Does anyone know where this Matrix Site was moved to... or if it was delected?

Hi John:

The new Software Assistant (SWA) for 11i systems integrates and automates the security patch check and general patch analysis. It produces a nice HTML report with links back to the security bulletins indentified as relevant to your server, let alone allowing you to download a depot of patches.

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6834AA

Regards!

...JRF...
James is right (as he often is). Here's some more background:

The Security Patch Matrix is still available, but deprecated. The same functionality that the patch matrix provides has been provided (and the analysis completely automated) by Security Patch Check since March 2001. Later versions of Security Patch Check (and now Software Assistant) provide additional functionality, including software revision analysis, patch dependency analysis, and patch download.

Using the patch matrix for similar analysis is tedious and time-consuming, not to mention error prone. The only reason why you'd want to use the patch matrix is if you have a 10.20 or earlier machine...but patches haven't been released for that platform for some time, so you don't need an updated version of the matrix :)

Hope that helps.

-Keith

Guys,

Looks like I'll have to go with the Security Patch Tool. This is an excerpt of what I found : Using the Security Patch Check Tool can help you efficiently improve system security by determining if you have relevant security patches on your system. However, using this tool does not guarantee system security. HP's Security Patch Check Tool is available at no charge from the Software Depot home at

http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot

The problem is I don't see it anywhere? I've looked thru virtually every sub-category and didn't see "Security Patch Check Tool".

What am I missing?

Now, off to my next meeting...! Thanks.
