root canoot login from cde/ssh

Hi all my HPux 11.23 is trusted system and can login as normal before.
The last thing I remember was when I change pwd locked when 3 times attempt to login with wrong pwd.
As far as I remember I login the right passwd but it still failed to login either from CDE or through ssh.
The error at CDE prompt as incorrect password.

Ok latest status, I managed to connect to console and login to the server with max 8 character and success. The problem is from CDE i still cannot login.
SSH also can login.
How to reset the CDE login?
Why I cannot login through CDE?

Shalom,

You need to reset the password on the user. At no point did you indicate you had done this step.

There is a command embedded in the two threads above.

You need to do this as root. If you are not the system admin you need to see your system admin or help desk.

After you lock a password, action is required to unlock your password.

The problem is when I check acct is OK. Activate. I can login few times from console and ssh but not through CDE.
I have changed new pwd for save side but still can't login through CDE.

dit you change the passwd to a 8 digit passwd?
please only use 8 caracters!

after setting the passwd check if the user is locked:
/usr/lbin/getprpw [root}
make sure the lockout=0000000
if this is not the cause you can activate the user by:
/usr/lbin/modprpw -k [root]
ore
/usr/lbin/modprpw -v [root]
