telnet login timeout

I have remote terminals that connect via telnet. If the users don't complete the login sequence within about a minute, the connection closes and they have to wait to start over. ( I know this sounds like whinning, but the "terminal" actually reboots, and the users, who don't nornally use a computer, have to wait another minute or so before that finishes.) The man page for telnetd says the default is 120 seconds for the -n option.

A) Since this option is not being set at startup, shouldn't they have 2 minutes?

B) Is the -n option even the thing I need to be looking at?

What sort of remote terminals.

Anyway

1)Use ndd to program your telnet options

2)Use nsquery to look at name resolution

3)Try using the -n on telnetd at 240 to see if it helps

4)Does syslog.log contain any errors

1)I don't want to change settings that will affect anything else. (Perhaps I'm not grasping what you are pointing to...)
2)I don't think this has any effect on my problem.
3)I was trying to avoid experimenting, but it looks like my only alternative unless someone knows the man page is wrong...

Yes it is, but make sure there is *no* space between -n & the value:

-n120
