Hi

I have 5 HP UX servers 2 of them are in database cluster and 2 in application cluster. the fifth one i want to use as aauthentication server i.e.I want to implement user level security for my HP UX servers.scenario is a user wants to access any application or resource on my network the fifth HP UX server should be able to authenticate it and log the session.just like we hav domain controllers in windows.what is the way out...RADIUS ...LDAP......a single point of access control for all db and application users...

dont worry about points

Shalom,

I would actually suggest integration with the Windows Domain controllers. If they exist ADS integration will provide you the single sign on concept that can save users a lot of hassle.

Links:
http://docs.hp.com/en/J4269-90037/ch02s05.html

LDAP Integration:
http://docs.hp.com/en/305/intpaper.pdf

http://h20338.www2.hp.com/hpux11i/downloads/hpux-11i-v2-overview-sept04-v19-050510.pdf

The last link is the most modern and there is more reading material linked within all the links above to help you get started.

Now if you really want to have fun, you could build a Samba based Domain controler on box #5. That could be a single point of access not only for your five servers, but for your entire organization.

SEP
