Thanks for the info John. So you get your dat files from Network Associates and not McAfee? We have a corporate lisence for McAfee for Windows and I am hoping that the dats for unix would fall under the same lisence.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is using this product? We have to due to the number of windows files saved on our unix systems. I am trying to find out how the updates are managed. Is there an auto-update for both dat files and upgrades?

Thanks,
sally

Our Corporate Information Security requires us to run it on all systems (Windows & UNIX). The engine updates come out so infrequently (11/2004 was the last one) that we push these by hand. For the DAT updates, we regularly pull them from Network Associates and put them on a local ftp server. Then all of are systems have a script to pull the dats for our ftp server and unpack them.
