Hello,

I need to know where to find information about the security features of HP-UX 11.2.4.

I would appreciate if somebody could help me!

Hi Anisa,

Below are the latest version of HPUX I know.

11i v1 = 11.11
11i v1.5 = 11.20 (Discontinued)
11i v1.6 = 11.22
11i v2 = 11.23

The future releases will also simplify customers' processor options. Today, HP-UX 11i Version 1.0 runs on PA-RISC while Version 1.5 and 1.6 run on Itanium. In the future, Versions 2 and 3 will run on both PA-RISC and Itanium.

If the new hpux version will be called 11.24 I don't know, I have not seen release notes yet.

Chapter 8 of "managing systems and workgroups" gives a nice overview of many of the security features of HP-UX 11i v2 (uname B.11.23)

11i v2 includes install-time security choices (several levels of "secure by default"), HP-UX Secure Shell, HP-UX Bastille, Security Patch Check, host intrusion detection, ipfilter firewall, and much more. 11i v2 is available for both PA-RISC and Integrity (64 bit intel) servers.
