Oracle precheck script error

Hello
I have hp ux 11.23 system
when I run oracle's installation prechek scrpit "kernelCheck9"; it gives error
"Memory Verification__________________
Due to OS permissions, cannot determine Physical Memory size
Setting Physical Memory size to 0
Physical Memory = 0 Kb
Swap space = 8388608 Kb
You have 0 Kb of memory.
This is NOT enough to install Oracle. You must have at least 524288 K
Memory Check Failed"
What can be wrong??

Are you running the precheck as root user or as oracle user? From what I can remember (age has it's limitations), I believe you have to run this as root.

hi,

A few things that you need to verify are:
1. The right installation files are being used.
2. The pre-installation tasks has already been performed as be the readme associated with the installation files
3. The VALIDATE/RDA script has already been run to ensure that the environment is OK for the installation.

please let us know if these have already been done.
