Hi,

I have encountered a problem when I plugged in a USB Keyboard and USB Handheld Scanner.

The USB Handheld scanner works by emulating as a USB Keyboard.
I have found if I plug both of them together, the keyboard will cease to work until the system is rebooted.

If boot HP-UX without the keyboard and only with the Handheld scanner, the scanner works.

These are my questions,
1. Does HP-UX supports 2 USB Keyboard running simultaneously? If yes, what do I need to add to the configs?

Thanks for any replies.

Hi,
and welcome to the forums !
My info may be out of date, but I thought HPUX servers only support USB keyboard or mice.

Perhaps somebody has more up-to-date info ?!

In the meantime -

Please read:
http://66.34.90.71/ITRCForumsEtiquette/after.html

Please also read:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/helptips.do?#33
on how to reward any useful answers given to your questions.
You mean a barcode scanner, not an image scanner?

At least up to and including HP-UX 11.23, the USB ports are supported for keyboard and mouse only. Based on your experience, it appears two keyboards are not supported.

MK

We have similar setup with older PCs which has PS/2 ports. The PS/2 Scanners & Keyboard is connected to Y-Mouse Keyboard and mouse adapter.

The Scanner is Barcode scanners basically similar to the ones provided by Symbol or Hand Held Products.
