I've lost my /etc/rc file on my system. Does anybody know how can i recover this file???

What HP-UX are you running?

As far as I am aware, 10.20, 11.00, and 11.11 do NOT use /etc/rc! The startup scripts are in /sbin/rc[0-4].d and are run by the /sbin/rc script. In general, ALL the startup script files are kept in /sbin/init.d with links from the appropriate /sbin/rc[0-4].d

Sorry for the misleading reply, I've just seen your other posting... you say you are running HP-UX 9.x.

It is possible that you can adapt the later /sbin/rc script for your purpose but I would recommend you get the original from your backup (or from another 9.x system).

I assume you are running hp-ux 9.xx? Try the rc script in the /etc/newconfig directory
