Any ideas for freeware ids for hp-ux ?
only prevent port scaning is good enough.

It's an other free software but not for HPUX (the binaries), i think that you know but... this is snort. The source is in www.snort.org

Hi,
As mentioned, HP has IDS/9000 (Intrusion Detection System)for HP-UX systems. It can be found at software.hp.com and performing a search for IDS/9000

HP have a free software product called IDS/9000. There are versions for both HP-UX 11.00 and 11.11. I'm currently testing this product, though there are better tools out there than this. Snort is a good option to go for, as this is a packet sniffer, packet logger and IDS all rolled into one application.

IDS/9000 is available on the application CD, and of course, from the web site.
