looks to me like the home directory of the ftp user you are using doesn't exist.

The home directory of the user in /etc/passwd is the one that ftp uses after authenticing login.

SEP

I am encountering a where a wu-ftp connection problem initiated via DOS prompt and IBM iseries to an HPUX server, gives the following:

>ls outbound

227 Entering Passive Mode (12,8,181,14,19,77)
550 *: No such file or directory.

When files and directories do exist on the server.
However, this problem does not occurr via Reflections ftp or from another HPUX server.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I don't knwo the wu-ftp program, but my gut feeling is the app tries to login on the active ftp port "22"

the message Passive mode indicates a change has occured in the way the connecting was established.

most firewalls will not allow active ftp (well if the firewall admin enabled it) reflection I know does not by default jump to active ftp.

my 2 cents
Donny
