How to install SSH

Hi,

Very stupid question, I know.
I just downloaded SSH(T1471AA) from the HP site and want to install the software. I try to install it using swinstall and select source : /tmp/ssh/T1471AA.depot
It tells me that there is no depot software in there, When I do a "tar tvf ...depot" it works and I see many files. But how do I get it installed ? It's not working as it is explained in the README files. Anyone has an idea ??

Try swinstall -s /tmp/ssh/T1471AA.depot

depot-corruption ?? Downloaded the file twice ???

Can you swlist -s the source ?

Are you downloading 11.0 or 11i versions ? I can download the 11.0 version and install it fine. Size in bytes of downloaded file is;
8058880

Is your swagentd daemon running ?

hi,

instead of running it using the command like, try running swinstall and through the interface:

- mark the software for installation
- perform the install analysis

see what errors it is giving (if any)

size of the depot for 11i is 8038400 bytes, and I can download and install it fine so source is good.

AAagh, don't know what's going on. just made the file executable changed f-permissions , et voila.

I really don't know what is was, but at least it's working now. Thanks for all your help !!

Hello David, I was installing software during the weekend and I had the same situation. What i end up doing was extrac the files (tar -xvf ) then a catalog directory will be created under that directory you need to create a swlock file. then run the swlist -s hostname:path.

I am sure it will work.

Hello!

You need to use the swinstall tool
and not tar the swinstall -s
if you run X you can set the DISPLAY and
see it graphic or add in the end of the command \* to start now.
