Moving the file out of the filesystem failed fbackup on another file and another record.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We have another DLT8000 that when we replace it the fbackup works fine using same cable and same terminator.  so we replaced the tape drive 3 times now and we still get such write errors.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You're help is much appreciated since we're out of ideas.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks in advance</description>

      <description>This is a hardware failure -- nothing is wrong with fbackup. What else is on the same I/O card? You have one drive that is good -- do you have another computer to try the failed drives? What about the media?  Have you tried new tapes? Is the environment excessively hot or humid?</description>

      <description>It sounds like a hardware error, did you check var/adm/syslog/syslog.log for errors ?.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also you could try a remote fbackup that would solve your problem. I think it takes more time to complete a remote fbackup but you could try it.</description>
