Hello,

How to map the devices on 11.31.
/dev/disk/disk5 & /dev/rdsk/c2t6d0

On 11.31 ioscan -funC disk will show interms of /dev/rdsk/c2t6d0 and lvlnboot, lvmtab, /stand/bootconf will show interms of
/dev/disk/disk5.

Assume that I modified the setboot to dif dev.

Not seen 11IV3 yet, but what about the output of "vgdisplay -v /dev/vg00" ?

11.31? Where'd you get that ;-) ?

'lvlnboot -v' on my systems displays disks as '/dev/dsk/cXtXdX'. I'm not sure why you're getting '/dev/disk/disk5'. What does 'ls -l /dev/disk/' give you?

In any event, we know 'lvlnboot' shows LVs on your root volume. From 'ioscan', 'disk 0' is most likely your root disk, so:

/dev/disk/disk5 <=> /dev/dsk/c0t6d0

Hi Mahesh..,

I am also having the same question.

In 11.31, /dev/disk/disk5 is the new way of mentioning the dsf files.

But the older naming convention is also there. ( like /dev/dsk/c2t5d0 ).

Can you pls update your tips on 11.31 then that will be useful.
