    <description>Hi David.&lt;BR /&gt;Just another hint. HP does not really need the getty running, but you have to give them access.       <description>Hi David,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I presume that you mean Predictive support via a modem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It depends on how you configure it. By not running a getty process, it is dial-out only in which case there can be no access for remote users. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In the event that HP support need dial-in access, you can just temporarily run getty.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps,&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;John</description>

      <description>David,&lt;BR /&gt;Stop the getty is one way... configure the modem that it does not answer the ring an other (ats0=0). Or simply pull the plug. In that case you have to manualy start the transfer if predictive wants to transfer something to hp. (It's a good solution if you have to explain your security concept to non-technical-management)</description>
