We have Hp Rp5405 server
which are log files which can be removed from the sever, and which will not provide problem in functioning of server to increase the space.
Like Temporay file in windows

Indrajit,

You can check these files: And then make it null if the logs are not rquired , or can be moved first (if logs required,) and then make it null,

/var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log
/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
mail.log
wtmp
utmp

# cp syslog.log /anyfs/syslog.log.old
# >syslog.log

This you can free up some space.

Also check for ant core file, and also /var/adm/crash/crash.x/* , cen be deleted.

Shalom,

sam routine tasks has a log trim/eliminate function.

This will indicate what logs are beyond needs and permit you to trim or remove them all at the same time.
