The discrepancy was between two software packages from BMC: Visualizer and Patrol for UNIX Perform/Predict.

Mott Given

Are there any bugs in the value of CPU busy reported on Itanium systems running HP-UX v11.23?
I am getting some incorrect CPU busy results which are either an error in the way that HP reports them or an error in the way that a 3rd party product from BMC reports them.

Mott Given

CPU busy? From top, or sar, or Glance? How do you know that the values are incorrect?

I've always relied up 'sar -uM 5 5'. Cross reference with BMC and if different then BMC has a bug.

I have several Itanium 11.23 servers. rx2600, rx4640, rx3410. Sar works as does glance.
