A user wishes to change the background images supplied by CDE.
1) What format do the new images need to be in ?
2) How/where is this changed ?

Could not find this in the knowledge trees.

CDE is a common desktop used by most major midrange operating systems out
there. CDE is known for not being a 'user friendly' xwindow manager. If you
have some free time you could look into having a more robust window manager
installed like Enlightnement. Check out:

Yes it works under HPUX.
