gdate - does it really exist?

I have been told of a utility called gdate, which can provide info such as the
day of the week of a given date, the date that is X days before/after a given
date, and other moderately useful things.
I have not been aboe to find it. Does such a utility exist? Whaere can I get
it? If not gdate, then anything that performs the functions mentioned above?
