topic PDF files in Operating System - HP-UX

I was trying read some documentation on an application disk using my PC's Adobe
Acrobat Reader 3.0 and got an error: "File does not begin with "%PDF-"". I had
ftp-ed (binary transfer) the file to my PC. QUESTION: Is there a way to read
the file in a HP-UX environment?

The only way would probably be to get an Acrobat reader for Unix. I don't know
if there is one, but check the adobe.com web page.

You could also try zipping the file on the HP and then ftp'ing it over to the
PC, where you'd unzip it. FTP shouldn't corrupt the file if it was sent in
binary mode, so the file may simply be corrupt.

You can get an Acrobat Reader for HP-UX from the Adobe web site. I use it all
the time on my 10.20 system.
You should be able to download it fairly easily.
just follow the setpa available at the attached link, and you will get the
software.
