We have to use PPL instead of PPP as we are stuck with HP-UX 10.20 due to some
third party packages we are using.

The problem we are encountering is that when we break the connection by
issueing a "kill -SIGTERM" to the PPL process, the destination node can no
longer access the network. It can however ping if the "-r" option is specified.
Short of rebooting, what can we do to get the network up and running normally
again.

The local machine is standalone and connected only to a modem. The destination
machine is connected to a modem and a network of other HP workstations.
