    <description>Lets start with basics.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; The whole of the modem configuration lives&lt;BR /&gt;in /usr/lib/uucp. Under there you will see files&lt;BR /&gt;like   Devices - defines the actual tty line to use&lt;BR /&gt;its speed, and type,&lt;BR /&gt;Dialers - has the particular strings for handshaking the modem types&lt;BR /&gt;Systems - defines the cu {system}   what device,&lt;BR /&gt;at what definition, speed and phone number to use.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check that these are right.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;IF they are ok, and you are still having problems.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;connect to the modem first&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; cu -l /dev/tty0p1 &lt;BR /&gt;and see that your modem is setup correct. try dialing out from the modem by &lt;BR /&gt;issuing the at commands.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I setup a usr 336 modem using sam but cna not access it&lt;BR /&gt;using the cu command. is a reboot required for a dial out modem? or are there &lt;BR /&gt;other things i should look into</description>
