Hi all,
I will a Tape storage for a k360 server (part number A3680B), the question is:

The system board part is the A3680B, and it has an SCSI interface. Now I wanna know if the Tape storage with part number C5653C fit into it.

Thanks in advance for any help
Hi

Typically SCSI units dont require much of compatibilites stuff so lonag as you are ablee to plug in and see . I would recommend is that to change to a unused SCSI ID and switch of the amchine , connect the drive and boot. You should be able to see the drive.

Manoj Srivastava

Your part no. appears to be a SureStore DAT24e (external). If you are using this as an external DAT drive on a K-box you MUST only connect it to a SE-SCSI bus using a 28655A SE-SCSI HP-PB controller. The other external SCSI buses are HVD SCSI and are not compatible. There is a single-ended SCSI bus internal to the K-box and you should be able to remove the DAT drive from it's enclosure and mount it as an internal drive. Make sure that you select an unused SCSI ID for the drive.

Hi,

The part number you gave refers to SureStore DAT 24eU (This is external and Unix compatible, typically a DDS3). However, the K class doesn't have any SE-SCSI outputs externally and have only a FWD external connection (by default). In this case if you have an additional controller of SE-SCSI, then you can connect this drive.

In the case you remove thid drive from the case and connect internal, check the slot available before you do that. Because you can only have two internal devices (not disks) - CD Drive and DAT - in K class.

rgds
