Hi Bill,

Try 'Jetadmin' software, it is a good Tool for your problems.
You can find it on: www.hp.com

Marcel

Install the jetadmin software revision D.06.21. Using the hardware address of the jetdirect, assign an IP addres to the jetdirect card. The printer should use a dumbplot_printer interface option.
You need JetAdmin to talk to the JetDirect card. Download the latest and greatest from http://www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/software/HP10d621.SD.html Don't use the version that comes on the HPUX application cdroms where it is ancient. After you have JetAdmin working your next problem is to determine the driver interface that the printer can handle. HP supports only of its own printers directly, so you will not find your Panasonic listed. The dumb models will handle anything but will offer no enhanced capabilities. If your printer can handle PCL command, selecting the Laserjet III is a relatively safe option that will handle most any PCL printer. Laserjet 4M is a good model to choose for Postscript. If your printer can't handle either of these, your application will need to provide the escape sequences required to handle any printer options (fonts, margins, etc).
