Like someone else pointed out different hardware will require different libraries.
Next, If one was upgraded from 10.20 to 11.x then there will be unused libraries remaining from 10.20. (Cleanup's not perfect, but close).

Next, you can not sync the systems /usr/lib directories anyway. Since there are dependancies in /usr/lib for just about anything you can think of, copying files, or extracting from tar archive will most likely corrupt the system.

The best and only thing you should do is to ensure that the same OS level and patch sets are installed. I.E. 11.i on both, or 11.0, not 1 of each. Install all patches from March 2002 bundle for HWE and QPK.

Regards,
Shannon

Our db users want to make sure that /usr/lib is the same on two servers.
I have hp-ux B.11.00 on both servers, however, some of the files on one of the servers have a date of Dec 8 2001 and on the other server as Aug 12 2000.
I have the patch and bundle levels the same.
I do think that at one time the one server (Aug 12 2000) had version HP-UX 10.20 on it.
Question: how can I get both /usr/lib to be he same.
Any/all help greatly appreciated and points will be gratefully assigned.
Andy

Hi,

first make sure, that you do not have one 32bit and one 64bit system. Otherwise one of them will surely not survive if you "equalize" them.

Hope this helps
Volker
