Shalom,

The IDE device is the CD.

The disk drive is dead or its cable is disconnected.

Open the box and check it out and see what comes up. If the drive is truly gone its relatively cheap to replace.

SEP

I just bought a HP C3700 Visualize workstation , and tried to install an OS on it.
I'm new on it , so I started with the main menu. Right now I didn't have HP-UX installation media,
so I started with debian/parisc installation ( but during installation, it didn't find any hdd to install it )

Main Menu: Enter command > sea

Searching for potential boot device(s)...
This may take several minutes.

To discontinue search, press any key (termination may not be immediate).

Path Number Device Path Device Type
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
P0 IDE LTN403

Main Menu: Enter command >

Why the search command didn't show the scsi hard drive ?
I thought the hard drive is not working, so I put another scsi hard drive from my other workstation,
but the results were same.
Is this normal that the search command didn't show the hard drives ?
If I want to boot from floppy drive what should I do ?

Sorry for my poor english and bad experiance.

Regards

May be hardware problem. Check cables/connections. If required, you will have to change CD/hard disk. With SEA, you should at least get DVD/CD drive as boot option.

Are you using correct CD/DVD on it. This is quite old model and you should check which OS can be installed on this.
