Where did you get your version of xmcd? It is considered freeware or shareware. Depending on where you obtained your version, there may be a FAQ that will help or more information as to who to followup with for help.

I use xmcd player to play Audio CD on our new B,C,J WKS but failed. CD is read but no voice is out. It seems xmcd doesn't support IDE CDROM on B/C/J WKS. Who can help to solve it?

Xmcd is touted as being very portable. I just assumed that "portable" basically meant it only bothered to support SCSI devices. In truth, the xmcd compatibility list states that it *can* support ATAPI and proprietary-interface CD-ROM drives, but the right drivers need to be available in the OS. One would think that would be the case with the ATAPI drives in your workstations...

Check your drive against the list of supported drives on the xmcd Web site at:

http://www.ibiblio.org/tkan/xmcd/

The Web site also suggests having a look at the 'DRIVES' file, distributed with the source code for xmcd, for tips on configuring xmcd for oddball drives.

If the information on the xmcd site doesn't eventually solve your problem, perhaps you should contact the author(s) directly regarding support for your particular hardware/software mix.
