I wanted to know if there is a Java 1.2.2 version for HP UX 10.20 available at all.

There has never been support for Java 1.2.2 on HP-UX 10.20. You might have seen a press release from 1998 that announced intention to put 1.2.2 on 10.20. The first 1.2.2 port was in fact only released for 11.00, as noted in the corrected press release-

If your application only needs 1.2 for the sake of having swing, then you may get by with 1.1 and the swing classes from
http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/download.html
If it needs other 1.2.2 features, then it needs HP-UX 11.00.
