As far as I know (and if someone knows different, please correct me..) there is NO NIS+ for 10.2.

And also as far as I know, there is no Trusted System (and I'm guessing that's what you have) that works with NIS (any version).

rcw

I have come across the following statement in the documentation of a set of systems I am to support:
"Password ageing is implemented but this is not the native HPUX implementation because this does not work with NIS running."
I have worked with NIS previously and am sure
the above is not true. Perhaps it was true in earlier versions (we are on 10.20).
Can anyone shed any light ?
I could save myself a lot of work by shedding the bespoke password ageing system!

Thanks for that. However, I am not running
NIS+, just NIS, and have done so on hp-ux 9.x and 10.x.
Further, I am only too aware that NIS and trusted computing are mutually incompatible.
All I want to know is, if using vanilla NIS,
under HP-UX 10.20, in a non-trusted environment, does native HP-UX password aging work ?

NIS does indeed recognize password ageing. It worked perfectly for me.

However, you should be aware of certain problems as expressed in DocID CBH9407261605. I don't know if it's still true nowadays, but for sure I prefer to mention it.

Best regards.
